This extra-fine Pinhead Gunpowder tea is grown in China. Dating back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907), this tea gets its name from its resemblance to gunpowder—the young green tea leaves are rolled into very small pellets before pan firing. If it helps, pinhead is less grassy than other greens. It’s a great tea for people who find most green teas too bitter or astringent. Gunpowder tea is known for its strong, sweet, and smooth flavor and dark colored brew.
This tea is sold loose leaf, meaning it will not arrive packed in tea bags.
